About me
About me
I am Anthony Bailey and I have been a counsellor and therapist for a number of years. My long training as a counsellor (over 4 years) has given me considerable experience in many areas, working as I have with depression, relationship problems, panic and anxiety, anger and bereavement. I have a particular interst in the field of addiction, especially with individuals struggling with alcohol, and the impact of drinking on the family.
My experience encourages me to believe that problems such as alcoholism which can feel impossible to deal with, can be resolved through regular contact with a therapist.
I am registered with both the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)as well as the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP.) I am a professional member of the Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling, the graduate body of WPF Counselling and Psychotherapy which is widely considered the leading counselling, therapy and psychotherapy organisation in the UK.
It is highly regarded for its high academic and clinical standards and it's where I completed my training. I am a training psychotherapist with a continued close association with WPF. As a member of my various professional bodies, I am required to fulfill and observe strict ethical and professional standards that include weekly clinical supervision.
I also worked for the City & Hackney Alcohol Service and completed their training in alcohol reduction counselling. Here I supported individuals struggling with their drinking and helped some to reduce their alcohol to more manageable amounts and others to recognise they could not manage this and to stop their drinking.
In addition to counselling individuals, I also run workshops and group sessions.
